Train on the same terrain where you compete

The Trail Running Training in Cundinamarca is the monthly session for people preparing for Santuario Chiquito’s trail running and hill-climb time trial, or who simply want to get to know the mountain terrain of the Páramo de Guerrero in a guided, regular way. It takes place on the last Saturday of every month, always on the same trails and dirt roads that later form part of the official race courses.

You make your own way to the meeting point. Like the trail running, the hill-climb time trial and the eco hikes on the reserve, each session is also an active conservation tool: the resources it generates sustain the care of the páramo and become income for the local community.

Next session: September 26, 2026 (last Saturday of every month). You make your own way to the meeting point. Exact time and location of the meeting point: [PENDING CONFIRMATION]. They will be confirmed by email or WhatsApp once your spot is reserved.

Like the trail running and the hill-climb time trial, the resources generated by each training session directly sustain the care of the páramo and become income for the local community. Training here regularly lets you get to know the Corredor Guerrero (Pacho–Tausa–Cogua–Zipaquirá) up close, a protected habitat for wildlife such as the oncilla (tigrillo lanudo) and the black-chested buzzard-eagle (águila de páramo), and the territory’s 7 species of frailejón, 3 of them Critically Endangered, including Espeletia cayetana, endemic to the Páramo de Guerrero. Over 10 years, more than 5,000 people have learned about this active conservation through outings like this one. It is hiking, it is athletic preparation, it is active conservation, all on the same territory near Bogotá. Discover the whole territory we protect →

Training here regularly takes you through the Corredor Guerrero (Pacho–Tausa–Cogua–Zipaquirá). Here are some of the species of that corridor and the conservation tasks your registration supports:
