Santuario ChiquitoA conservation race, not just a mountain race
The Páramo de Guerrero Trail Running is a conservation trail running and hiking race near Bogotá with a different purpose from the Santuario Chiquito Trail Running. Instead of covering only the reserve’s established trails, its course passes through land that is now in the process of joining the Páramo de Guerrero reserve network, the territory that conservation aims to protect in the future.
Running this race directly supports the expansion of the productive conservation model. Every entry helps sustain the conservation work, eco hikes and hiking that make it possible to protect more of the páramo over time.

The Santuario Chiquito Trail Running covers only the reserve’s established trails. The Páramo de Guerrero Trail Running, by contrast, is the regional-scale conservation race: it passes through the future sites that will join the páramo ecosystem’s reserve network.
The network’s goal is to reach 650 hectares dedicated 100% to conservation: 350 already consolidated, 140 hectares from small and large local landowners in the formal process of joining (including properties in Laguna Seca and Las Tapias) and 160 more projected to the south of Santuario Chiquito. The course of this race runs right through that expanding territory, linked by a community governance network of peasant guardians and local landowners who watch over the páramo.
