What it is

Santuario Chiquito's most comprehensive voucher: a contribution mechanism that brings together the protection of biodiversity, habitat, soil, water, carbon, flora, fauna and ecosystem functions on the same piece of land.

What it protects / supports

It comprehensively protects 100 m² of the reserve — not a single isolated component, but the full set of biodiversity and habitat that sustains that area.

How it works

This is the Level 1 (master/umbrella) voucher in Santuario Chiquito's conservation matrix: once an area is assigned under this voucher, it is registered as Comprehensive Protection and is not sold again over that same area as a Level 2 thematic voucher (Watershed Protection, Fauna Protection, Frailejón Adoption or Tree Adoption). It can coexist with Level 3 actions on the same area (Planting/Restoration, Gorse (Retamo Espinoso) Control, commemorative vouchers), because those represent an action carried out on the area rather than exclusive coverage/protection.

📍 About the location of your plot: Your contribution protects a specific conservation plot. You can visit and take in the land by walking only on the nearby authorized trails, without entering the restoration zone directly, so that the ecosystem stays undisturbed.

Terms and scope

This voucher is a contribution mechanism to the reserve's productive conservation model. It is not a property purchase, an environmental certification or a certified offset. The equivalence of COP 2,500/m² is mathematical, not commercial: this voucher is not sold in fractions by m² — the commercial product is the 100 m² package for COP 250,000.
