High-mountain traverse / training: 2 guides are required from the first person — the lead guide, at a fixed rate that is the same for end customers, agencies and corporate groups, plus 1 local guide at the standard rate. From traveler 12, one additional local guide is added for every 10 more people, with no upper limit. You can also book as an Open Group: the guides are still required, but they are paid in cash on the day of the hike, split among the group — see the details when you book. One of the great high-mountain hiking traverses near Bogotá. Cross the Páramo de Guerrero from Pacho to Tausa, through high-Andean forests, waterfalls and frailejones up to the highest summit of the páramo. Ideal as training for snow-capped peaks and high-mountain trekking.
The monthly counter resets on the first day of each month and deducts one spot for each confirmed booking; the daily limit applies per booked date.

How do you get to Travesía Santuario from Bogotá?
It is 70 km from Bogotá, along the San Cayetano road (30 km past Zipaquirá). There are buses from Bogotá/Zipaquirá at 6:00 a.m. (the recommended time) and 9:30 a.m.; the return buses leave at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. (the latter requires a transfer to Bogotá). We recommend arranging local transport to the base camp.
